Dusshera is a Hindu festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil. It's a religious holiday (but the company made the Hindu team come into the office, we were literally the ONLY people on the entire campus).
I read that on this holiday people may exchange gifts and sweets. One of the Bangalore team members brought us in homemade sweets today (Gulab Jamun... SO delicious), now I come to realize which was a part of their celebration. It was a heart warming and very generous gesture on his part.
Also, most of the cars, bikes, busses and mopeds were decorated with ornate floral pieces.
